The Niagara Musky Association

Congratulations to our friends at the Niagara Musky Association (NMA) for taking an important step in protecting and improving our local musky (muskellunge) population.  Their work, in collaboration with Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) and the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), will help provide critical information for future conservation and restoration efforts, in the Buffalo Harbor and upper Niagara River. Our region has one of the few self-sustaining (optional clarification - does not currently require stocking) populations of musky in New York State and thanks to ongoing efforts, by groups like NMA, this resource will be here for future generations.
